The charitable organization «Relief coordination centre» coordinates humanitarian missions carried out by charitable organisations. The main coordination tool is an information resource that is updated daily by teams from all areas.
"Our team collects information about current needs and their coverage from local authorities, activists, commandants, and charitable organisations. At the same time, we focus on finding resources in the charitable sector to meet existing needs. We already cooperate with more than 470 local charities and 90 international organisations," explain representatives of the RCC.
The centre focuses on several areas simultaneously: humanitarian aid, medical assistance, protection and security, information gathering and analysis, support for IDPs in temporary accommodation centres and HUBs in Kharkiv, as well as training and support programmes for volunteers. The humanitarian area covers the coordination of resources in the Kharkiv region (1,748 settlements) and the use of an interactive map and dashboard to track the needs of residents in these settlements. Medical support provides coverage for residents in need and directly to hospitals. The IDP support area coordinates assistance to dormitories (57 MTPs) with more than 6,000 residents, monitoring their needs. The protection and security area includes coordination of the charitable sector in matters of evacuation from frontline communities in the region.
The project also includes a rapid response team, which is an association of charitable organisations that works to eliminate the consequences of shelling and support the affected population in the immediate aftermath of shelling (psychological and legal assistance, provision of hot meals at locations).
