UNION OF LARGE FAMILIES «ULF»

The Union of large families «ULF» brings together large families, families with disabled children, and families of those killed in the war. The organisation primarily provides legal assistance, particularly with paperwork.

The organisation was founded in 2017 by Kateryna Dubovyk. After the birth of her third child, she decided to change the public perception of large families as poor and uneducated.

"I was working in the juvenile services at the time, and all the large families in my reports were identified as dysfunctional. Then, when I gave birth to my third child, I decided to set up an organisation to change society's perception that a large family does not necessarily mean a dysfunctional family. I decided to use my own experience to show that mothers with many children are successful, they are candidates of science, associate professors at higher educational institutions," says Kateryna.

The ULF Union also helps families solve problems related to the medical needs of children with disabilities, such as cerebral palsy and diabetes. In particular, in cases where hospitals refuse to provide free services.

The organisation actively supports mothers who face discrimination and stigmatisation due to having many children or children with illnesses, providing legal support to protect their rights. It also provides assistance in matters of custody and termination of parental rights when necessary for the safety of children.
